Meadows Center

Rose, an American eel (Anguilla rostrata), has been on display at the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment having been caught by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in the Colorado River over two weeks ago. Female eels like Rose choose to swim inland and will travel up rivers and tributaries while their male counterparts remain close to the coast. Rose likes to remain covered under rocks or sand during the day and comes out at nightfall to feed.
